YOGA TEACHER TRAINING AND CERTIFICATION

NOW . . . We are excited to announce that we are officially Yoga Alliance Registered . . .

CENTERED CITY YOGA 500 hour TEACHER CERTIFICATION PROGRAM
June – November, 2008
$3100

12 spaces left . . .  and filling quickly!

A student recently remarked to me that the yoga teachers who have been through this certification program are the most prepared, authentic, inspired teachers in Utah. I won't take credit for their genius, but I do feel confident stating that this program will coax your authentic brightness right to the surface so that when you decide to teach (or even if you just choose to be more authentic in your life) you will KNOW you can trust in (and step toward) your inner intelligence. It seems magical; I am continually surprised at how quickly people really can find and (learn to rely on) their authenticity. This is why I love offering teacher training. We get the chance to go in-depth; this is for me the most remarkable aspect of the program.

Along with that, I will combine my 19 years of experience in the Yoga industry with the varied experience of many teachers and studios from our community to bring you the most cohesive YOGA SPECIFIC training available. By incorporating many different forms of teaching modalities (including dialog, journaling, group circles, practice teaching, community service, partner work, book groups, retreats and master workshops), this certification provides you with the knowledge and background necessary to be a well rounded teacher, without pigeon-holing you into a specific "brand" of yoga.  You will get to experience the essence of yoga (meaning UNION) and you WILL know how to teach from that essence when you step into the "teacher" role.

My hope, should you decide to sign up for this next session, is that you and your fellow trainees will each "graduate" with a very clear idea of who you are, where your potential lies, and exactly what your passion is.  You will feel confident and prepared, knowing what you desire to teach, knowing how you want to teach, and knowing exactly how to affect those lives you wish to touch. It’s time . . . JUST DO IT.

WHAT’S INCLUDED: All books, the yoga reader, unlimited classes at Centered City Yoga and Alpine Yoga for 6 months, vouchers for classes at all other studios involved, David Williams master workshop, 4 day yoga retreat, all community classes, all training sessions, the CCY collection of LIVE yoga CD's; anatomy and physiology classes, and a 30 minute exit interview with D'ana. You will receive a certificate upon completing the 6 month intensive.. This is a Fantastic deal. Add it all up . . .

CERTIFICATION FEES: $3100 or $2900 if paid in full by May 31 ( If you choose, CCY can set up a payment plan with you in May of 2008. Many different options are available to you; our sincere desire is that you get the training you are looking for without being financially burdened by it!)

The training session this weekend was overwhelmingly positive. You gave such valuable information in so many different areas. You are a plethora of information, and I look forward to learning more from you. It is an honor having you as my instructor. Thank you for your energy.

While I have grown to believe, after having taught for a short while, that nothing can prepare a prospective yoga teacher for teaching so well as actually teaching, D'ana's teacher training supplied me with the confidence to walk into a yoga class as a teacher with the knowledge--whoever should show up, whenever the day to whichever the class, whatever their development as yoga students--that I will be able to craft, sequence, or otherwise approach a class according to those students' special needs, meeting them where they are and when they are. This confidence is built throughout D'ana's six-month teacher training course, through the special readings assigned, through the informative hand-outs, through the enlightening guided, group discussions; but especially through the process of building relationships with other people who are as excited as I am to share the yoga experience with other people. For this reason, the retreat becomes one of the most vital elements of the teacher training. Because it is during this four-day immersion, in company with other like-minded yogis and yoginis, when the teacher-in-training can be at leisure to engage in long conversations about practice, and to share their own vulnerabilities, as well as to gain perspective on their own real strengths and weaknesses, offering and receiving assurances of support and confidence from a caring community.
