Sheldon
Sheldon's first exposure to yoga was in early childhood, through his mother's home practice. Though he tried a few poses at that time it wasn't until many years later that he finally found himself standing in his first tadasana at a CCY Core class. He was immediately captivated by the physical challenge and mental clarity provided by asana practice and was quickly convinced to (occasionally) leave the bike and skate skis at home. A steady yoga practice has helped to deepen and enhance his other favored outdoor activities.
Enjoying travel and new experiences, Sheldon has taken classes and workshops from an array of instructors and has sampled various styles from around the country. Slowly, a deepening practice culminated in teacher certification with D'ana Baptiste. He has been greatly influenced by his experiences with D'ana, Ana Forrest, Rolf Gates, Christy Burnette, the many talented staff/students at CCY, and a wide array of other instructors.
Sheldon has studied and worked in the health care field for almost 20 years and brings a strong background of anatomy and precision to his favorite practices of pranayama and power. He loves to teach and explore the many overlapping principles found in yoga and Western science. |
