About Us
Our Philosophy
True Nature Day Camp invites children to step away from screens and into the outdoors. Inspired by the philosophy of deep nature connection, our programs are designed to spark curiosity and foster stewardship of the land. Each day blends movement, yoga, and outdoor discovery.
Connection
Building a stronger sense of "WE" through community circles, storytelling, and shared adventures.
Exploration
Identifying native plants, tracking animals, and learning the secrets of the Utah landscape.
Mindfulness
Integrating yoga and breathwork to help children regulate emotions and find their inner calm.
Meet Our Guides
River Thorne
CAMP DIRECTOR AND LEAD GUIDE
Growing up in the Pacific Northwest, River developed a deep connection to the forest early on. With 10 years of experience in outdoor education and a certification in Hatha Yoga, she anchors our camp with a calm, grounding presence. River’s favorite part of the day is the morning gratitude circle.
Luna Sky
MINDFULNESS & STORYTELLER
Luna specializes in "Earth Stories"—folklore and myths about the stars, trees, and animals. She ends our days with guided relaxation and sound bowl healing, helping campers wind down. Luna is also a certified kids' yoga instructor with a focus on breathwork.
Sunny Meadows
CREATIVE ARTS & CRAFTS
Sunny believes every pinecone and pebble has a story. She leads our "Nature Art" sessions, teaching campers how to weave grass baskets, press flowers, and create mandalas from fallen leaves. Her gentle approach encourages even the shyest campers to express their inner creativity.
Willow Greene
JUNIOR COUNSELOR MENTOR
Willow started as a camper here ten years ago and now leads our Junior Guide program! She bridges the gap between campers and staff, organizing team-building games and ensuring everyone has a buddy. Willow is currently studying environmental science at the university.
Jasper Stone
ADVENTURE & TRACKING SPECIALIST
A former park ranger and avid rock climber, Jasper brings a sense of adventure to every hike. He teaches the campers animal tracking, bird language, and safe navigation. His high energy is contagious, making even the steepest hills feel like a fun quest.
